Volunteer Services

What role does the Volunteer Coordinator Play in hospice & palliative care?

The Volunteer Coordinator is trained to evaluate families when they come on service and identify areas where a trained hospice volunteer might enhance the care of their loved one. Volunteers are a very important part of the hospice team. The contributions our volunteers make are essential to the quality of life of our patients. They are specially trained to provide comfort, support, and companionship to patients and their families for a few hours each week. Volunteers are assigned and supervised by the volunteer coordinator and work directly with the clinical care team.

How does the Hospice Volunteer enhance quality of life?
